Joy Simpkins

Joy Simpkins, a native Washingtonian, has approximately 30 years of experience in accounting and finance.  She graduated from George Washington University with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and later obtained her Certified Public Accountant license.  During her career, she has worked in the Federal Government sector as well as private industry. 

Ms. Simpkins serves as one of the Site Coordinators for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program for the 2022 tax season.  The VITA site assists income qualifying individuals and families with tax preparation at no cost.  Ms. Simpkins has a zeal for assisting clients as well as a love for working with numbers.  This created the perfect opportunity for her to serve the Howard County and State of Maryland communities in this capacity.
