MakingChange volunteer coaches meet with participants in the program on a weekly, biweekly, or monthly basis to help them establish a basic budget, evaluate their credit report or improve their credit score, increase their savings, reduce or pay off debts and increase salary.
Volunteers do not need to be financial experts, but must have a passion for helping families and a basic knowledge of financial concepts in one or more of the following areas:
- Debt Management and Reduction
- Increasing Salary
- Starting a business
Initial training will be provided as well as future quarterly trainings which will include more in depth discussions on financial management and asset building strategies. The time commitment on a monthly basis would be approximately 1-4 hours per participant.
