The Howard County Library in partnership with MakingChange, a local nonprofit organization that is changing lives by empowering individuals and families to achieve financial stability, is holding free financial planning workshops at branch libraries in January and February.
The workshops will be presented by Roy Yenoli, Program Coordinator of Financial Education for MakingChange. The sessions feature real world examples in addressing budgeting and saving, the basics of investing and preparing tax returns.
“Where Did My Money Go?” (Budgeting & Saving), focuses on budgeting tricks and techniques, financial goal setting, and learning to live within your means. It will be held Jan. 11, 10:30-11:30 a.m., Miller Branch Library, 9421 Frederick Rd. in Ellicott City, and Jan. 11, 6-7 p.m., Central Branch Library, 10375 Little Patuxent Prky. in Columbia.
Investing Basics is the topic on Feb. 8, 10-30-11:30 a.m., at the Miller Branch Library and Feb. 8, 6-7 p.m., at the Central Branch Library.
Preparing for Tax Time is set for Feb. 15, 6-7 p.m., at the Glenwood Branch Library, 2350 State Route 97 in Cooksville.
