On July 12, 2021, County Executive, Dr. Calvin Ball presented one of twenty-seven awards to the Department of Housing and Community Development for its program “Overcoming Credit Challenges On the Road to Homeownership.” This program has contributed to the success in helping Howard County residents become homeowners through the Moderate-Income Housing Unit (MIHU) program. Applicants who apply to this program in need of counseling to address budgeting, debt management and/or credit challenges are required to complete a 4-week group education series delivered by MakingChange, Inc.
